My goal is to raise $2,007.00
Chase is a triplet 4 year old that was born with a rare liver condition called Biliary Atresia. We were told that Chase would need a life saving liver transplant within the first two years of his life. He had a Kasai procedure done at one month old that we were hoping would prolong this process, but it did not work. Chase's liver began to fail him fast.
Chase went on the Liver Transplant list at 5 months of age. For us as parents it was the longest 8 months of our lives. Every single day we would pray and hope that this would be the day that Chase would receive his life saving organ. As a parent it was hard to pray for an organ for your son knowing it would be at a cost of another child.
On July 26, 2007 our prayers were answered and Chase received his new liver. His transplant team at Cincinnati Children's hospital was amazing and his follow up care at Akron Children's hospital was just as amazing. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't thank God for the health of our child. There isn't a day that goes by that we do not pray for our angel donor and their family. A simple thank you does not seem like enough.
My husband, Michael, and I have decided a way to honor our donor is to raise awareness about the need for organ and tissue donors. Organ and tissue donors and recipients are more than medical stories. They are our neighbors, our friends, our family and our community.
The fact is ... Organ and tissue donation saves lives. For nearly 25 years, LifeBanc has been working to heal and save thousands of lives in our community. With the support of individuals and the community, LifeBanc can continue to save more lives by working ot educate the public and provide people with the information that they need to make a donation decision based on facts. Annually, LifeBanc provides more than 2,000 educational programs to the Northeast Ohio community and continues to strategically develop and implement programs and initiatives to reach more people and increase organ and tissue donation for those awaiting transplant.Making a financial donation is easy and safe- simply click the "Donate Now" button in the upper right corner or become a fundraising and invite others to help support the Gift of Life!
You can see that our financial goal is set at $2007.00.
The year 2007 was the year our son, Chase, was given a new chance at life.
Please join us in raising not only money, but awareness.
Join our team "Chance for Chase".
Sincerely,
Jodi and Michael Del Ferraro

Today we're meeting with some people from Akron Children's Hospital. We're hoping for a sponsorship for the Gift of Life Walk in August. Michael and I are again getting a team together for the August 2010 walk. I am helping out on the committee and pretty excited for what they've planned so far. On Friday my mom and I have are volunteering for the Wine & Wishes for Akron Children's hospital. Pretty excited about this too. Both the hospital and Lifebanc have become such an important part in our lives and to be able to give back is just a great feeling. *We also added some updated pictures of Easter 2010 in an album*

I am finally sitting down and downloading their school pictures. It's so hard to believe they will be four this year and Michela is 7. Where the heck does the time go? Kiddos are all doing well-getting over being sick yet once again-for this reason I can not stand the winter months. Along with all the snow this year. Supposed to be sunny on Sunday-we shall see.
*funny note*
Went to give medications the other night and when I walked into the room Parker was talking in his sleep. He kept repeating "choo choo train tracks". I think we read the train book way too many times that day!
