How does the free web site work? (top)
By signing up for a free web site, you will have access to most of the features of a paying ParentShack site, so you can take our service for a true test drive. If you like what you see, sign up for a site at any time. If you don't want to upgrade, you can keep your free site for as long as you want. You will, however, need to update it at least once every 30 days for it to remain active.
Why is it better to have a paid site? (top)
Well, besides the fact that you help support the maintenance and enhancement of ParentShack, you also get an advertising-free site, the ability to upload and display videos, substantially more storage capacity for your photos and videos, many more background options and more comprehensive visitor statistics. Also, you don't have to worry about updating your site every 30 days to keep it active.
Do you display advertising on my website? (top)
We are able to offer free websites by placing small, targeted advertisments on our pages. If you would like to remove these advertisements, you can upgrade to one of our affordable hosting packages, which are 100% advertising-free.
Do I need to provide a credit card? (top)
No, we do not require a credit card when you sign up for a free web site. We will only need credit card information when you decide to convert your free site into a paying site.
How does billing work? (top)
If you decide to become a member after your free trial, your account will be charged upon signup for the subscription that you select. Thereafter, your account will be automatically billed unless you decide to cancel.

Can I pay by means other than a credit card? (top)
No. At this time, other methods of payment are not accepted.

What happens if I reach my storage limit? (top)
If you reach your storage limit, you can either delete photos from your site, optimize your larger photos to make them smaller (and take less storage space) or upgrade your account to one of our larger packages.
Can I upgrade? (top)
Yes, you can upgrade your account at any time by clicking the "Get a bigger site" link at the top of your "My Home Page" page. We will simply bill you the difference between your current billing rate and the rate for the upgraded program.
Can I cancel? (top)
Our cancellation policy is as simple as our service. If, within the first 30 days of subscribing, you would like to to cancel simply notify us via e-mail and we will refund the pro-rated remaining amount of your subscription.
