Detailed instructions:
1. Click on Photos & Albums tab
2. Go to Create a New Album box located on the left hand side of the screen of the Photos & Albums main page.
3. Enter an album title.
4. Click on the Create It! button
5. The new album should appear on the list of Your Photo Albums.
6. To upload photos to the album, click on the Upload photos link located on the page.

How do I delete a photo album?  (top)
To delete an album, click on the Photos & Albums tab and scroll to the Your Photo Albums table. Click on the trash can icon located on the same line as the album you wish to delete. You will need to confirm that you want the album deleted. All photos and any guestbook messages contained in the album will also be deleted. All deletes are final and unrecoverable.

Can I customize the background for an album?  (top)
Yes you can. Just click on the Photos & Albums tab and the click on the album. Choose a background from the pulldown menu. If no background is selected, the sitewide background will be used as the default background for the album.

What is an album introduction?  (top)
An album introduction lets you provide some text to accompany your album. To add one for your album, just click on the album name and write your introduction.

How do I change the name of a photo album?  (top)
Go to Photos & Albums tab. Click on the edit icon for the album you would like to edit or click on the album name. Erase the current title from the box and replace it with the title that you want. Click on the Change it! button to save your change.

How do I change the name of the link to the photo?  (top)
You can do so by changing your photo title. For info on how to change your photo title, go here.

Can I change the order in which albums appear?  (top)
Yes, you can change the album order. Click on the Photos & Albums tab. Click on the position number (POS) for the album that you want to move. This will bring you to a new page. Change the display order of the albums album by selecting an album and clicking the up or down arrows. Be sure to click Submit when you are done. The resulting change in the album order will be reflected in the album listing.

How do I hide an album so it no longer appears on my site?  (top)
To hide an album, simply click on the Photos & Albums tab and then on the album name. This will take you to the photo listing page. Change the album's viewing status to "not ready to be viewed."
You can also hide an album by clicking on the album icon found on the Photos & Albums main page. The colored icon indicates the album appears on your web site. The grayed-out version of the icon indicates the album is hidden.

How can I see what the album looks like to my visitors?  (top)
You can see how your album appears on your site by clicking on the Preview Your Site link located right under the tabs. A popup window should appear which will display your site's home page. Click on the album name to see the pictures in the album.

What type of photos do you accept?  (top)
We accept.jpg (also called .jpeg) files.

What is your recommended photo size?  (top)
We can take .jpg files of any size up to 2 MB. However, we *strongly* recommend that each image be no larger than 100 Kilobytes. A file that size can make a visitor wait up to 30 seconds to download for viewing. The ideal size is 30-50 Kilobytes per image. In addition, we recommend photos be a minimum 400 pixels wide. You can either use a photo editor to change the files to the appropriate size or use the built-in photo editor.

How do I upload a photo?  (top)
Summary:
Click on the Upload Photos link found when you click on the Photos & Albums tab. You can also upload photos from within an album as well as some other locations.

Detailed Instructions:
1. Click on the Photos & Albums tab. Click on the upload photos link.
2. Using the pulldown menu, choose the album that you want to save the photos in.
3. Go to the first open field, click the Browse button and find the image file that you would like to display on your site
4. Click on the Open button.
5. Add more photos by repeating Steps 3 and 4 as many times as necessary.
6. When you have chosen all the photos you would like to upload, click on the Upload these photos button
7. A popup window will appear that says that the photo upload is in progress.
8. The upload is complete when the window automatically closes.
Notes:
- If you do not want to upload photos that you have selected, click on the Reset button
- You can upload a maximum of 5 photos at a time.
- You can upload a total of 10 MB per upload. If the total file size of your photos exceeds this limit, you will need to reduce the number of photos you upload at a time.
- You can only upload photos to one album at a time.
- Uploading could take a few minutes if your photos are large or your Internet connection is slow
- Closing the status window or the upload photos page will stop the photo uploading process.

What does it mean to "optimize my photos?"  (top)
Optimizing a photo involves taking an image and making it smaller in resolution and overall size so that it can be downloaded faster. Visitors will be able to see the same image you have uploaded, but much more quickly. If your photos are larger than recommended, we will automatically recommend that your photos be optimized.

My photo came out sideways. Help!  (top)
You can use your rotator to get photos pointed in the right direction. Just go to the Photo Edit page for the photo in question and click on the direction that you want to turn your image.

Can I download my photos?  (top)
It is possible to download photos. However, only one photo can be downloaded at a time. It should be noted that ParentShack is not designed to be a service to store photos. You should always keep copies of your photos on your computer.

How do I change my photo title?  (top)
Summary:
Click on the title of the photo that you would like to change. Change the title and then save your changes.

1. Click on the Photos & Albums tab, then click on the album title that contains the photo you want to edit. Finally, click on the photo name.
2. Enter the desired photo title in the field. The photo file name is listed as the default title.

How do I add a caption to my photo?  (top)
Summary:
Click on the title of the photo where you would like to add a caption. Add or change the caption and then save your changes.

1. Go to the Photos & Albums tab, click on the album title that contains the photo you want to edit, and then click on the photo name.
2. Enter the desired photo caption in the field.
3. Click on the Save button.
4. Click the Preview photo on site link to see how the photo looks on the site.
5. Click on the album title name located in the navigational breadcrumb under the tab to modify other pictures in the album.

How can I see what the photo looks like on the site?  (top)
You can preview photos by clicking on the Preview link found at the top of every page or by clicking the Preview photo on site link found within the Photo Settings page.

Note: Being able to preview a photo on the site does not mean it is visible to your site visitors. Make sure the album is set to be viewable if you want to share it with your visitors.

How do I delete a photo from an album?  (top)
To delete a photo, click on the Photos & Albums tab and then on the name of the album in which the picture you would like to delete is contained. Click on the trash can icon located on the same line as the photo that you would like to delete.

Note: You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete this photo. All guestbook messages, titles and captions for this photo will also be permanently deleted. You can also delete a photo by clicking on the Delete this photo link found on the Photo Settings page.


How do I change the order in which photos appear in an album?  (top)
Every time you add a photo to an album, it is set to appear at the top of the list. To change the order in which photos appear, click on the Change photo order link that appears on the page that lists all the photos in an album. Change the display order of the photos in this album by selecting a photo and clicking the up or down arrows. Be sure to click Submit when you are done.

How do I move a photo to another album?  (top)
Summary:
Go to the Photo Settting page for the photo that you would like to move. Choose the album that you would like the photo to appear in and then save your changes.

2. Using the pulldown by Move to this Album, choose the album that you would like to move the photo to.
3. Click on the Save button.

-You can tell what album your photo is in by consulting the breadcrumb located right below the tab.
- To keep the photo in the same album, the pulldown should be set to "keep it here."

How do I choose a home page photo?  (top)
Go to the My Home Page tab. You can set your home page photo by choosing an image from the pulldown menu. The menu contains a listing of all uploaded images. If you have no images uploaded, the pulldown menu will not appear.
